A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be pretty easy if you’ve got a Linux shared website hosting service with our company. You can enable this option through our advanced, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your hosting account. You will see all the email addresses that you have created displayed alphabetically and on the right-hand side of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you whether a certain mailbox receives all the email messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you want. If there’s enabled email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will get a notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to set up a catch-all address with no more than one click in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the addresses that you create using any domain name hosted in the account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon on its right-hand side, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click on that icon. In the same fashion you’ll be able to disable the feature, in case you do not need it any longer. Our system will notify you if you are trying to activate a 2nd catch-all email address for a certain domain or in case there is enabled email forwarding, but it will never modify or deactivate anything automatically and without your permission.
